Questions/Answers Regarding Community Safety Net
1. What is Community Safety Net and why are they asking me to donate money? Yankton County EMS is partnering with Community Safety Net to produce booklets about safety for children. These booklets will be given to children from Yankton County. Community Safety Net is calling local businesses to be sponsors of these books. Community Safety Net is a legitimate organization, and for more information they can be directed to the website: www.communitysafetynet.com
2. The guy who called me had a thick accent. Is this a scam? No, it is not a scam. The person who called is named Dion and he is the Safety Coordinator for Community Safety Net. Dion does have a thick accent, but rest assured it is not a scam. Dion’s phone number is 1.844.594.2986 if they wish to contact him, which he encourages anyone to do.
3. Why am I being contacted and what’s the purpose of these booklets? Community Safety Net is contacting local Yankton businesses to be sponsors of these booklets. Businesses certainly are not obligated to give money, but the booklets will be given to children at places and events such as Safety City, Riverboat Days, Ribfest and other public service events where Yankton County EMS is involved. Also, the money donated will not go directly to Yankton County EMS, but will be used solely for the booklets.
