TRAining and CPR EDucation
Yankton County EMS, in conjunction with Vermillion Fire EMS, will be hosting an EMT Course from January through April of 2024. This in-person course will be held simultaneously at the Vermillion Fire EMS station and the Yankton County EMS facility. Registration is open until 5:00 PM on Friday, December 15th. Class size is limited. Students must be at least 18 years of age by the end of the course on May 2nd, 2024. Register by clicking this link. CPR CLASSES
Yankton County EMS offers public CPR classes as requested. To schedule a CPR class, contact CPR Coordinator Alan Gary at 605-668-9033. We also offer in-house skills testing for students who have completed the American Heart Association Heart Code online courses.
American Heart Association Heart Code Skills Testing
Yankton County EMS provides hands-on skills testing for students who have completed the American Heart Association's Heart Code online course for BLS CPR, ACLS and PALS. After completing the course, the student must call our office during business hours (605-668-9033, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM) to schedule a time for testing. At the time of the skills test, the student must bring along their AHA online course completion certificate and a check payable to Yankton County. The fee schedule for testing is as follows:
Heart Code – Skills only Testing
· BLS (Healthcare Provider)..... $25.00 per student
· Heart Saver…………………..$30.00 per student
· First Aid-CPR………………..$30.00 per student
· ACLS or PALS………………$35.00 per student
· ACLS + PALS……………….$50.00 per student
· BLS + ACLS or PALS………$40.00 per student
· BLS + ACLS + PALS……….$50.00 per student
Instructor Led, In-Classroom
· BLS (Healthcare Provider).....$50.00 per student
· Heart Saver CPR…………….$50.00 per student
· First Aid CPR………………..$60.00 per student
· ACLS or PALS Renewal.........$100.00 per student
ACLS or PALS Full Course.....$150.00 per student
